June Boat Races

The Lock Haven Area Jaycees and the American Power Boat Association are proud to present the newest race to hit Lock Haven, the Northeast Divisionals, June 12-13, 2010.

The new race, planned to be an annual event the second weekend of June, will feature the same boats that race down the West Branch of the Susquehanna River during the Annual Lock Haven Area Jaycees Labor Day Regatta.

             Racing will take place from 10 a.m. to sundown June 12, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 13.

The Jaycees are also partnering with area nonprofit organizations to bring food to Water Street, featuring the famous Jaycees hot sausage, pizza, French fries and refreshments. Other nonprofits to prepare food are Hope Hose Fire Co., Lock Haven Masons Club, Lock Haven Lions Club and Castanea United Methodist Church. Food will include the traditional carnival fare like hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, popcorn and ice cream.

The event will also include a arts and craft and flea market area.

             The midway will be open 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. June 12, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 13.

On Saturday night, the Jaycees will have Facedown take to the stage near the Clinton County Courthouse from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Nonprofit organizations, and arts and crafts and flea market vendors are invited to next year’s event. Please contact the Jaycees at 570-748-6388 or lockhavenjaycees@gmail.com.
